About this event

About this event

Nelson’s Journey, is a Norfolk charity supporting children and young people that have experienced the death of a special person in their life. We have developed a one-hour awareness training session to professionals, exploring how children and young people in your setting may be affected by bereavement and how you can support them.

This training is only available to professionals and volunteers who work with children and young people, the majority of who are living in Norfolk. By registering for this event, you may be asked to confirm this before a meeting link is shared with you

Following the training, attendees will:

• Recognise a range of experiences related to loss and bereavement and how to support children and young people

• Increase awareness of the issues faced by children and young people experiencing bereavement

• Gain confidence in working with bereaved children, young people and their parents and carers

• Identify resources and organisations available to support bereaved families

The session is appropriate for all professionals working with children and young people in Norfolk. The training will be delivered via Microsoft Teams so any attendees will need to have access to a desktop computer, laptop or tablet. It is workable on a smartphone but viewing of slides may be a little restricted.

Please note: the majority of children that will benefit from your attendance at this training must live in Norfolk

In addition, we provide child bereavement awareness training to professionals, helping them to be better equipped to support the needs of children and young people who experience the death of a special person in their life.
